It's over! No more driving (4 schools this year!) No more phone calls saying "Mom, I forgot my lunch money." No more homework. No more lost library books. No more "I can't find my shoe," at 7:30 in the morning. No more "I need money for..." I have 83 days with my children. We don't have any great plans this summer. There's youth conference, girls camp, and a canoe trip for the teens, diving and swim lessons for the little ones, and a book that I got for mothers day waiting for me to get past page 2. We will do the library thing of course- and hit QT for thier 59 cent fountain drinks afterward (a summer tradition), we'd like to go camping one weekend, and hit a waterpark in the evening (cheaper at night), the Phoenix Children's museum is free the first Friday of each month, and the Mesa Youth Museum is only a few bucks. There will be lots of swimming, a trip to the mall, and maybe a dollar movie or two. So while we're not going to Disneyland, Hawaii, or Sea World, we're going to have a great summer, full of time to be together-because as all of you with children know, childhood doesn't last forever!
YES, WE REALLY DO HAVE EIGHT!
YES, We Really Do Have Eight!
I love babies. When my babies hit their first birthday, I long once again for that tiny helpless little person that smells like baby powder and doesn't squirm away when you're staring at his beautiful little face. Now don't get me wrong. I love the other stages too. I laugh out loud when I hear the jibber jabber of his first words (Jackson). I giggle when I see one dance hysterically when she hears a Justin Bieber song (Bekkah). I beam with pride when she puts gospel principals into action as she prepares for her upcomming baptism (Emily). I am amazed over and over as he accepts and conquers challenges far beyond his years (Ammon). I burst with pride as I watch his determination and drive in all that he sets his mind to (Zane). I melt when I see the empathy, and concern she has for others (Mckenzie). I have to catch my breath when I see him snuggle with his baby brother (Zachary). I am amazed as I read his letters from his mission (Tres). I guess I just love it all. And this is why I have, despite my horrible pregnancies, we have eight beautiful, talented, amazing, wonderful children!

Yay! I love summers too! I love having the kids home (for about one week before they start to clobber each other). We're not planning any big trips either, but have lots of little plans. I might have to steal some of your activity ideas. Have an awesome summer!
I'm so excited for summer too! My favorite part is NO SCHEDULE! We can make it up as we go along! I love it that way! We will have to steal McKenzie once in awhile though! :)
