YES, WE REALLY DO HAVE EIGHT!

YES, We Really Do Have Eight!

I love babies. When my babies hit their first birthday, I long once again for that tiny helpless little person that smells like baby powder and doesn't squirm away when you're staring at his beautiful little face. Now don't get me wrong. I love the other stages too. I laugh out loud when I hear the jibber jabber of his first words (Jackson). I giggle when I see one dance hysterically when she hears a Justin Bieber song (Bekkah). I beam with pride when she puts gospel principals into action as she prepares for her upcomming baptism (Emily). I am amazed over and over as he accepts and conquers challenges far beyond his years (Ammon). I burst with pride as I watch his determination and drive in all that he sets his mind to (Zane). I melt when I see the empathy, and concern she has for others (Mckenzie). I have to catch my breath when I see him snuggle with his baby brother (Zachary). I am amazed as I read his letters from his mission (Tres). I guess I just love it all. And this is why I have, despite my horrible pregnancies, we have eight beautiful, talented, amazing, wonderful children!

Ordination

Last night Tres was ordained to the office of an Elder and given the Melkesidek Priesthood. As I sat across the room and watched my little boy become a man, my heart was filled with gratitude for the blessings of the gospel in my family. I looked over at my sleeping infant. That was Tres only yesterday. How fast it all goes. I am thankful that my children know the purpose of life, that they know where they came from and how to return to Him. My first born, my little baby, the one that taught me how to be a mother in Zion, has grown up, and as sad as it makes me to know he will be leaving soon, I am thrilled to watch him grow both physically and spiritually.(hopefully not much taller though-how do buy a suit for a 6'1'' kid with a 26" waist!) I know he has a testimony. He has a deep love of our Savior. He knows his scriptures, and loves the gospel. What more could this old mom want?!

I CANNOT believe this! He is still a little boy - right? No, I can believe it b/c my babies are 24 and my oldest baby is 40 - that really hurts! b/c I'm still 40 :) Tell him that our whole family is really really proud of him and his worthiness to become an elder. Mission is next :)
